From noise
to image.
Generative work, finished by a retoucher. Every AI image goes through the same hands as a photograph before it leaves the studio.
FinalThe work you don’t see.
Good retouching disappears. Move over the portrait and the lens shows the raw file underneath.

What I do.
Retouching by hand and generative imagery, as separate services or combined in one production.
Beauty and skin
High-end skin work that keeps texture: frequency separation, dodge and burn, make-up and hair cleanup.
Pores stay. Promised.
Fashion and editorial
Consistent series for lookbooks, campaigns and editorials, from cleanup to the final grade.
Yes, the shirt can be red. Again.
Product and still life
Clean surfaces, controlled reflections and colour-true products for e-commerce and print.
That fingerprint? Never happened.
Compositing
Several shots, one image: background swaps, set extensions, sky and light changes.
The sky was grey. Was.
AI key visuals
Generated campaign images, art-directed to your brief and finished by hand for print and digital.
AI-assisted retouch
Generative fill, extensions and variations that speed up classic retouching without losing quality.
Briefing
References, usage and deadline. You get timing and a quote, usually within 24 hours.
Retouch or generation
A first version of the key image sets the look before the whole series is done.
Feedback rounds
Two rounds of corrections are included. Notes go straight on the image.
Delivery
Final files in the formats and colour spaces you need, ready for print and screen.
How I work
with AI.
- ToolsAdobe Firefly, Flux, Gemini, GPT, Photoshop, Midjourney and more, chosen per project. You always know which tool made what.
- RightsFor commercial jobs I use tools whose output may be used commercially, and I document the workflow.
- PeopleNo real faces, artists or brands are imitated without permission.
- By handEvery AI image is retouched and graded by hand before it leaves the studio.
Where it started.
Before retouching full time I worked as a photographer. Understanding light behind the camera is what makes the work in front of the screen better.
Photographer since 2012. Still shooting for fun.

Marc André Hinkel is a high-end retoucher and AI image artist based in Munich. He started out retouching for private clients and companies, then studied photography and design in Munich and graduated as Bachelor of Design in 2017.
Today he works across classic retouching and generative imagery, and treats both with the same standard: every pixel is checked, every image is finished by hand.
